Capital&Centric and Doncaster Council team up to reimagine two key city centre sites.

Capital&Centric and City of Doncaster Council have joined forces to unlock the potential of two major city centre sites, setting the stage for the next chapter in Doncaster's regeneration story.

The social impact developer will now bring forward plans for two prominent locations that sit at the heart of the city centre and offer a huge opportunity to create new homes and public spaces including independent shops, bars and restaurants for local people.

The appointment marks the start of a collaborative process between Capital&Centric and Doncaster Council, with detailed proposals set to emerge following further design development and engagement with local communities and stakeholders.

Andrew Davison, Development Director at Capital&Centric, said:

"Doncaster is a place with huge ambition, a strong identity and a real appetite for doing things differently. These sites create fantastic opportunities to create characterful places that bring more people into the city centre and support its long-term growth. We're excited to be working alongside Doncaster Council to shape proposals that build on the city's strengths, creating new neighbourhoods for local people with real personality."

Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones, said:

“I am delighted to announce that the council is partnering with Capital&Centric. Their reputation for innovative and high-quality city centre regeneration is second to none. Waterdale and the Colannades sit at the heart of our urban core, and their redevelopment will play a major role in realising our ambitions for Doncaster and making it a more attractive place to live in, work at and visit. By transforming these two sites, we will enhance our city centre’s offer while also improving the look and feel of the surrounding area. I look forward to sharing more about the plans in the near future.”

Social impact developer Capital&Centric now spends an average of £3m across eight live construction sites, driving regeneration in towns and cities nationwide by transforming unloved land and buildings into vibrant neighbourhoods that revitalise communities.
