A greener, livelier neighbourhood inspired by the best of St Ives.
We are exploring how the old cattle market square and gatehouse in St Ives could be given a new lease of life. With strong links to Cambridge, St Ives offers a more relaxed pace of life while staying well connected to the city.
The ideas being considered look at introducing thoughtfully designed contemporary homes, resident amenities and green spaces that sit comfortably alongside the town’s rich heritage and historic character. As we develop these ideas, we’re taking time to understand what works for St Ives and what local people want to see from this part of the town.
We recognise that parking is an important issue for the community and that any potential changes need to be carefully considered. We’re working to understand how this site could form part of that wider approach. Feedback from local people will be an important part of that process as the proposals continue to take shape.
The Plans.
We’ve got big plans for our site at St Ives. We’ll be exploring the potential to turn this part of town into a new neighbourhood including:
• Up to 120 new homes
• Resident perks like a gym, mini-cini and co-working space
• Verdant, wild landscaping and green space at the heart of the scheme. With walking and pedestrian routes to connect the neighbourhood with the rest of the community
• A spill out space, filled with bars, cafés and restaurants, to encourage the community to come together
• Bold architecture that complements the existing facades in the town
• Links to the nearby shops, parks and wider town centre
