A Plymouth icon is getting a new lease of life. New homes, new places to learn and lush green spaces, bringing a city icon back into every day life.

An icon of Plymouth’s skyline, reimagined.
In collaboration with Plymouth City Council, we’re bringing the Grade II listed Civic Centre back to life. A landmark of the city since the 1960s, the building will become 144 design-led homes alongside a new Blue Green Skills Hub.
We’re restoring its character while upgrading the landmark building for the future, sensitively bringing old and new together.
Outside, the public realm will be re-landscaped into a lush green neighbourhood, with new planting, seating and a refurbished pond, creating a greener, more welcoming place to spend time, meet and hang out.
OLD MEETS NEW.
We’re restoring its distinctive character while carefully upgrading the Grade II listed building for the future, bringing new homes, learning and activity into a place that’s been part of the city’s skyline for generations. The Plans:
- 144 design-led homes - a mix of one and two-bed apartments within the landmark tower
- Blue Green Skills Hub - a new home for City College Plymouth, welcoming up to 2,000 students each year
- Spaces for everyone - including a careers hub, sustainable bistro, wellness spa and digital AR and VR facilities
- Hands-on workshops and new teaching spaces
- Greener public spaces - new planting, landscaping and places to sit and spend time including the restoration of the Civic Centre’s existing pond
- A Plymouth icon, protected - celebrating the character of the Grade II listed building while giving it a new purpose
