We’re cooking up big plans for Cannon Brewery, with a vision to create a buzzing, diverse neighbourhood of new homes, lush green community spaces, bars, cafes and workspace.
The Neepsend landmark is rich with history. William Stones began brewing there in 1868 and Stones Bitter, which was brewed there from 1948, was popular with steelworkers in the area and became the UK’s best-selling bitter in the 90s.
The former Stones Brewery has sat empty since shutting its doors in 1999, but now the 4.2 acre site is set to be a major catalyst for regeneration in the area.

We’ve teamed up with Club de Padel to create Sheffield’s first indoor padel courts at Cannon Brewery, with a store, coffee and juice bar, and wellness space.
Club de Padel is breathing new life into Cannon Brewery with five courts. Committed to introducing as many new players to the sport as possible, Club de Padel will offer accessible coaching sessions, host free intro classes, and create welcoming spaces where players of all skill levels can connect, learn, and enjoy the sport. The coaching team will also be working with local schools and charities to give opportunities to all to get involved.
