Development Director.
The role.
We’re after a delivery-focused Development heavyweight to lead 3–4 projects from planning consent to reality. You’ll work closely with one of our Joint MDs, leading on our delivery and procurement to drive cost efficiencies for the business and manage risk, while ensuring the design and workmanship of our buildings aligns with our brand standards.
Here’s a flavour of what you’ll get stuck into:

- Owning budgets, appraisals and cashflows
- Procurement – agreeing the best route forward and locking in building contracts and transferring risk
- Helping administer funding agreements, then keeping everything ship-shape once deals are done
Who we’re after.
You’ll need to bring around 5+ years’ experience in construction or development, and you’ll probably have cut your teeth on some chunky schemes already. Ideally you’ll:
- Have a real estate, surveying, construction or project management background
- Know how to deliver projects, and not be fazed by tricky challenges
- Experience in agreeing procurement strategies and tendering and negotiating building contracts
- Be confident working with public sector partners
- Be switched-on with budgets and detail
- Be a strong communicator and comfortable fronting up a project
- Know your way around design development and planning
- Have decent Excel skills and a working knowledge of construction law
- Bonus points if you’ve got experience of going through the BSA gateway process
